Overview

A well-established law firm in Boca Raton, FL is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead key accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and support firm leadership with strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate has strong experience in professional services accounting-preferably within a legal environment-and is comfortable managing a wide range of responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes, and all financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, trust accounting, and payroll entries.
  • Ensure compliance with law firm trust accounting rules (IOTA/IOLTA) and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Support annual tax preparation and work closely with external auditors or CPA partners.
  • Review and reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, retainers, and client ledgers.
  • Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements.
  • Partner with firm leadership on financial strategy, expense management, and profitability analysis.
  • Assist with reporting related to case costs, cost reimbursements, and client billing structures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

5-7+ years of accounting experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP and legal trust accounting requirements.

Proficiency with accounting and legal billing software

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high accuracy.
